New Year Introspection

Sometimes the very best gifts have nothing to do with materials. I am always thankful for my beautiful children, and my wonderful husband. I work hard at taking the time to count my blessings, because after all if I don't no one is going to do it for me.

My family re-located to Arizona a little over 2 years ago. It was a hard transition for me. I took longer than the kids & hubby to adjust and feel like it was going to be okay. Once I did that, I noticed that I could hear the lord's messages to me better. I have felt so much more of his presence since we made the big move. The funny thing is, the reason we moved here is not the reason we stay here. There are many reasons that our family would like us to come home, but I know that we are here because we are supposed to be here. I love my family in Michigan and miss them of course. However my first priority is my own family unit and doing what is best for my kids and my marriage. Watching them flourish and grow and become these amazing humans lets me know that we did the right thing, even if no one else can understand it.

So for the new year, I am going to continue to count my blessings, but also to understand the need for my challenges. They are sent to me from the lord just as the blessings are. A very important part of my journey is to recognize this and be more accepting of it. I wish happiness, joy and love for everyone in the new year!
